Symmetry

The four types of symmetry are:

Translation

Rotation

Reflection

Glide reflection

Symmetry is important because It can make a logo or a product simple but affective.

Repeat and rotate

I got a picture and I duplicated it and then turned it upside down then merged the pictures together. Then I got 2 colours from that same picture and merged them to make the background. I duplicated the photo by using ctrl J and I also used ctrl T to move and rotate the pictures. I also used the guide from photoshop to line up the images so nothing was sticking out/ out of place.

Kaleidoscope

A kaleidoscope is when 2 or more collaged pieces of work are merged together to make something new. I used the move tool, the magnet lasso tool and the paint tool. I used the magnet lasso tool to scan out the main shapes in the different images. and I used the paint tool to scan one colour from the building in the middle and some from the tower and merged them together to make the background.

I think that I could of improved the piece of work above me by making the side of the diagonal building were not sticking out onto the 2 main photos. Also I think I should of scan the picture correctly because so of the side of the picture didn’t print on the final piece.

This picture here has a lot of symmetry. there is also symmetry in the grass lines and the penalty spot.
